| Howard Lederer goes wireless | 16th October, 2005 |
We all know World Poker Tour celebrity Howard "the Professor" Lederer. He is known as one of the cleverest and most strategic poker players in the world. Now the professor is about to tutor people - wirelessly.
Cingular Wireless, the largest wireless carrier in the United States, bring news saying that they have joined up with Howard Lederer to launch poker software to wireless phones and PDA:s. The poker package includes tutorials and in-depth how-to-think-in-a-specific-situation guides.
Besides all this, you can test your luck in tournaments, facing computer simulated opponents such as Lederer's sister Annie Duke, or how about Chris Ferguson? Anyway, the title of the application is "Secrets of Hold'em with Howard Lederer". You can buy it for only $5.99 at the Cingular website.
Cingular's move is interesting as it starts a new era of wireless applications for handheld devices. Perhaps a secure poker client for mobile systems isn't that far away after all? | | | - written by Betty Holden |
