One of the fastest booming industries of today - the poker business - may have stepped down from its throne. Well, just by a little anyway.
PC Pro Magazine reports that there's a certain stagnation in the lucrative online poker business as world leading Party Gaming announced slower-than-expected progression. Shares of the company plunged down by a third, or a total of 6,000,000,000 US Dollars.The company floated just 10 weeks ago but its prospectus made no mention that a downturn may be just around the corner. CEO Richard Segal pointed out that conversely it had not said that the company would continue to grow at the same 'spectacular' rate.
Nevertheless, the poker business is still growing, and in fact, quite fast. The previous anticipations may have been a tad too high, however.
