You're raising three times the big blind before the flop and get two players with you, including the player on the button. Flop comes and deals Ac-Js-Ts. First player raises by $20 and you decide to raise to $60. One player folds, button goes all-in. You have $620 left, a call costs you $250. What do you do?
| | Call: In this case, you are put in an extremely difficult situation. You are probably holding the best hand, but there are two combinations troubling you, straight and flush, both outnumbering three of a kind. But let's face it, if you can't risk some, you will never win score big money.
Keep in mind that if the player does in fact hit a straight or flush, he should probably only call to make sure that you don't fold because of a too big raise. In other words, you're likely to face cards like a high pair or two pairs, but most likely a middle hand pair, such as pair of nines or alike (hence the $60 pre-flop call).
Last but not least, remember that there's always a slim chance of a full house or even four of a kind - a hand that will beat a flush at all times.
